Relay For Life

Barker Relay For Life 2002 was once again an outstanding success. Together we raised over $144,000.00 to help in the fight against cancer. We couldn't have done it without the hard work &, of course, the contributions of all of those that were involved.

Plans for the 2003 Barker Relay For Life are already under way. Your Executive Committee has been hard at work since early September striving to make this the best Relay ever.

A Relay Reunion/Thank You party was held on October 24th, 2002 to thank all the team captains and the many local officials for their help in making 2002 such a success. Each team captain received a certificate suitable for framing with their name and team name on it and an adorable purple bean-bag bear as our way of saying thanks.

Pizza Wings & Things has graciously agreed to be the sponsor of this web site. The purpose of which is to keep you informed of upcoming Relay meetings & events & also as a way to thank the corporate sponsors for their help.

As we did last year, sponsors who placed an ad in the Relay Program Book will be indicated on the Sponsor's page of the site. I will include a color logo for them with any information they would like to provide in that space. Where applicable. These ads will be linked to their home web sites, so you can check them out. Be sure to let them know you found them by clicking on their sponsorship ad.

Among the other things that have happened already this year, the Relay Bus came to Barker & many Barker residents & school district employees signed the bus. Check out our Relay Bus page for some of the photos. It then went on to Washington for the Hill. Several members of the Barker Relay for Life Committee were invited to attend this momentous event.
